Job Overview

Working across Calderdale the Neighbourhood Teams deliver a range of initiatives building resilient and cohesive communities, the teams work in partnership with different services and the community to develop and deliver projects and interventions that improve satisfaction with local areas and promote active citizenship.

We are looking to recruit a Neighbourhood Officer to join our Valleys Neighbourhood Team. The role will work alongside other members of the team including Neighbourhood Coordinators and Community Wardens to provide neighbourhood management principally in the Calder and Luddendenfoot Wards although flexible working across other areas of the Upper and Lower Valley will be required.


Responsibilities

Supporting a wide range of Council priorities across a number of services and directorates, the Neighbourhood officer will identify and resolve a range of local concerns including community safety and environmental issues as well as proactively working with the community to codesign and deliver sustainable positive change.

The Neighbourhood Officer will attend and support a range of meetings including ward forums, Safer Cleaner Greener Partnership meetings and the Hebden Bridge Development Board. The role also involves delivering a range of community projects, events and activities as well as providing wider support to the Valleys Neighbourhood Team.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience of community development and working in communities, building and managing effective partnerships and experience of applying to or managing grant programmes. Occasional evening and weekend working will be required.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills and be familiar with budget monitoring and collaborative working.
