Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Senior Support Worker works as part of a team and independently to support and improve the lives of people who are prison leavers and/or experiencing homelessness.
The Senior Support Worker takes responsibility for delegated tasks such as processing referrals from point of receipt to delivery of support by creating person‑centered, housing‑related support plans and allocating tasks to staff. The role includes acting as Deputy in the Service Manager's absence, completing reviews of support, recording evidence of outcomes for monitoring, ensuring all client files are up to date and ready for validation, and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards, inspection, and regulation. A deputy must be able to take on essential admin duties and oversee the Management of Support Workers as directed by the Service Manager.
The role involves working closely with the Service Manager and staff to develop the Bangor Supported Accommodation service and to be part of the agreed On‑Call Rota.
Responsibilities
* Work independently to support and improve lives of people returning from prison and/or experiencing homelessness.
* Process referrals, create person‑centered support plans, allocate tasks to staff.
* Act as Deputy during Service Manager’s absence.
* Complete support reviews, record and monitor outcomes.
* Ensure client files are up to date and compliant with quality standards.
* Oversee administrative duties and management of Support Workers.
* Collaborate with Service Manager and staff to develop supported accommodation services.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working with ex‑prisoners and/or homeless individuals; knowledge of support services and housing‑related issues; ability to work independently and in a team; excellent organisational and communication skills.
Benefits & Salary
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salaer: £25,809.30 per year
