An opportunity has arisen for a Wells Engineering Competency Assessor to join our Operator client to carry out a specialist engineering capability assessment programme, based in Aberdeen. This position supports the independent verification of critical technical skills within the wells engineering discipline, addressing essential competency management requirements in a regulated offshore environment.
Role Context
The Wells Engineering Capability Assessment program has been established to address a gap in skills capability and competency management systems. The programme focuses on specific engineering skills essential for risk management and requires a method for independent, self-verification of proficiency in these skills. There is increased interest in and scrutiny of competency and capability management for non-safety critical roles from regulators, including the UK's Offshore Petroleum Regulator for Environment and Decommissioning (OPRED). The role supports a robust capability management system designed to meet regulatory audit requirements.
About The Role
The Wells Engineering Competency Assessor position is a technical assessment role focused on independently evaluating and verifying engineering competencies within the wells discipline. This position plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations and maintaining high standards of technical capability within the wells engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct independent capability assessments of wells engineering skills and competencies

Required Experience & Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience in wells engineering disciplines
* Technical competency assessment or verification experience
* Understanding of offshore petroleum regulatory environments
* Knowledge of competency management systems and frameworks
