This role provides high‑quality clinical care and support to patients within the Inpatient Pain Management Service. Working closely with the Specialist Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, the post‑holder will contribute to the delivery and development of specialist nursing interventions that enhance patient comfort, safety, and outcomes.
The role also acts as a key resource for the multidisciplinary team, offering clinical guidance, support, and expertise to ensure consistent, evidence‑based pain management across the service.
Clinical
Manage a defined caseload of patients with support from the Band 7 CNS, providing specialist advice and clinical expertise to patients, families, and staff. Undertake comprehensive assessments and deliver evidence‑based interventions. Coordinate patient care pathways to optimise outcomes under senior supervision.
Leadership
Contribute to the education and development of staff within the clinical area and participate in service reviews and audit activities.
Education
Provide formal and informal teaching to the multidisciplinary team and students. Maintain personal professional development in accordance with NMC standards.
Research & Quality
Support local audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring clinical practice reflects current evidence and national guidance.
