Job Description
Here’s what you’ll do:
Managing the Design Process
* Lead Design Management projects across the UK and internationally.
* Manage AECOM financial processes and invoicing.
* Review team work outputs before issue to ensure quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
Managing Sub‑consultants
* Prepare responsibility matrix to identify sub‑consultant responsibility for each area of scope.
* Draft and distribute sub‑consultant back‑to‑back contracts so that all scope is accounted for.
* Manage updates to sub‑consultant contracts and prepare final documents.
* Prepare and update cash flow projections.
* Establish procedures for invoice submission for sub‑consultants and monitor them.
* Track and report on the progress of all sub‑consultant invoices and prepare a monthly financial report.
Establishment and Implementation of Design Management Procedures
* Prepare design programmes, monitor and report progress.
* Manage deliverables/outputs.
* Ensure design quality.
* Manage design budgets/change.
* Obtain necessary approvals.
* Organise project meetings and design workshops.
* Coordinate design activities.
Assist in the Management of the Design Management Team
* Achieve AECOM PM accreditation and manage design projects in accordance with AECOM financial systems and processes.
* Lead or support design management projects across the UK and internationally where appropriate.
* Mentor, train, and review junior design management team members.
* Review junior team outputs before issue to ensure quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
* Support the design management team leadership as required.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Understanding of the design process.
* Project and design programming skills.
* Experience in developing and implementing design management tools and procedures.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Commercial awareness of projects.
* Construction knowledge/experience.
* Proficiency in MS Project, Excel and InDesign.
