Role Overview:
We are looking for an organised, dependable, and early-rising individual to join our friendly kitchen team. As a Kitchen Support Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of our traditional countryside inn. Working weekday mornings, you'll be responsible for preparing and serving a small number of guest breakfasts, assisting with light food preparation, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation are maintained. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a small, close-knit team and takes pride in efficiency and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Breakfast Service: Prepare and serve hotel guest breakfasts (up to a maximum of 10 covers daily), ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service

• Deliveries & Stock Management: Receive, check, and put away deliveries. Ensure all stock is correctly rotated and labelled, maintaining freshness and reducing waste. Verify goods received against invoices to ensure accuracy
.
• Light Preparation Duties: Carry out basic prep tasks including chopping and blanching chips, preparing salad items, and setting up the garnish station, ready for service
.
• Deep Cleaning Rotation: Complete a deep clean of one designated kitchen station per day, working to a weekly rotation schedule to maintain hygiene standards across the kitchen
.
• Pot Wash Support: Ensure the pot wash area is left clear of dirty dishes and ready for the next shift, helping to maintain efficiency and cleanliness throughout the day.
Requirements:
* A reliable, organised individual with a positive attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team
.
• Basic kitchen experience is essential, however further training will be provided
.
• A commitment to maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and high standards of hospitality
.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential.
