The main duties of the post are to collect, collate, and support the analysis of outcome data under the direct supervision of the team's clinical psychologists. The role involves working independently according to a plan agreed with qualified psychologists and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
Additionally, this role will involve assistance in clinically related administration, assessment, audits, statistical collection, development of research projects, teaching, and project work.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills, have experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and evaluation methodologies, and be able to work flexibly and autonomously. The role requires a mix of academic skills—such as training and knowledge of the evidence base on demographic and clinical factors regarding mental health—and interpersonal skills, particularly engagement with diverse populations and effective communication with non-researchers.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Completing protocol-based data collection with parents, patients, and referrers, including administering self-report measures, rating scales, assessments, observations, and interviews, then supporting data analysis and reporting.
2. Maintaining project databases and filing systems in accordance with GDPR and ethics approvals.
3. Assisting in data analysis, report writing, and dissemination.
4. Preparing annual and quarterly reports summarizing collected data under supervision, and working with staff to review patient care for multidisciplinary reviews.
5. Assisting in developing a psychologically based framework of understanding and care across service settings.
6. Attending and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings.
