MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Estimating team with a Civil Estimator for our Central framework. Based at the Hattersley office you will create civil project estimates for a multi-million-pound design & build framework within the water sector.
You will report directly to the Estimating Manager and the responsibilities will include:
* Appraisal of civil solutions, reviewing the scope, civil specifications and drawings to ensure the estimate and supplier quotations are compliant and meet the requirements of the client.
* Produce detailed activity schedules or BOQ's from specifications and drawings covering all aspects of the civil related activities and in accordance with the Client’s cost capture system.
* Involvement in the selection of the subcontractors and suppliers for each project to ensure that the most suited subcontractors/suppliers are invited to tender.
* Obtain accurate prices and quotations for all civil aspects including subcontracts, materials, plant and labour.
* Ability to price/produce estimates for all or some aspects of the works bottom up using agreed standardised rates and first principles.
* Ability to read detailed construction programmes and the development of simple critical path programmes to inform the delivery of packages of work and associated project related costs.
* Production of budget and target cost workbooks for presentation within internal governance sessions prior to submission to the client.
Qualified in a civil engineering discipline Experience of water and / or utilities sector Experience of working within a multi-discipline engineering environment Knowledge and understanding of civil construction (typically earthworks, R.C bases, roads, footways, retaining structures, walls, tanks & chambers, drainage and ductwork) and associated temporary works Holding a current relevant CSCS Card
