General Manager – OMFS & Ophthalmology (8C)
Second‑month secondment for 6 months at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Grinstead.
Job Summary
As General Manager, you will be responsible and accountable for the day‑to‑day operational services of the OMFS & Ophthalmology directorate, working collaboratively with the triumvirate to ensure services are clinically and operationally led, focusing on patient care, access targets, quality improvement and a culture of learning.

Responsibilities
* Oversee operational services of the OMFS & Ophthalmology directorate to meet access targets and improve quality.
* Collaborate with the triumvirate, clinicians, managers and partners to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
* Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels to support effective clinical and operational leadership.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate specialist knowledge within this field through practical experience.
* Evidence of relevant professional management training and/or qualification.
Experience
* Experience in a leadership/managerial role in a complex acute environment.
* Experience of directly managing pay and non-pay budgets.
* Experience of direct staff management of a large team of staff.
* Experience of supporting staff and developing staff members.
* Experience of active performance management.
* Experience of providing services to a high quality with restricted resources.
* Experience of leading and supporting staff through change.
* Experience of implementing change management projects to develop or improve services.
* Experience of managing and delivering access standards.
* Experience of managing effective booking and appointment processes.
* Experience of implementing change management utilising technologies.
* Experience of business case preparation, presentation and implementation.
* Project management experience.
