Main Role
Your main work area will be to develop and progress the Hazardous Waste (HW) regulatory reform associated with the Waste Tracking Service (WTS). It is an exciting role that will make a real difference!
The Hazardous Waste Regulatory Reform Project Lead will play a pivotal role in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, implementing reforms, and driving the project to successful completion. Your expertise will significantly contribute to the successful implementation of the reform.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and collate input from EA HW teams regarding regulatory and policy requirements of the regime.
2. Provide technical input to the EA Waste Tracking team.
3. Advise the Defra digital team on the development and design of the Waste Tracking Service, ensuring it meets business needs.
4. Provide technical insight/feedback into Defra Policy discussions to incorporate regulatory requirements into the Waste Tracking Service.
5. Engage with devolved nations regarding Waste Tracking Service requirements.
Additionally, you will:
* Provide leadership on future Hazardous Waste charging proposals and consultations, advising on technical elements and links to waste tracking.
* Support wider regulatory reform related to Hazardous Waste Regulations.
* Support and contribute to the wider Hazardous Waste team remit.
The Team
The Environment & Business (E&B) Hazardous Waste team is a small, high-performing team within the Regime Regulation team of E&B Waste Regulation. We lead the business on hazardous waste, supporting government, industry, and colleagues to ensure proper waste management.

Additional Information
You will have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. Training will be provided. The role is flexible/hybrid with an EA Office base location. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
