Role Title: Tableau Platform Engineer
Location: Milton Keynes
Duration: Until 31 Dec 2025
Rate: £250 per day - PAYE via Umbrella Only
About The Role
System Upgrades and Patch Management:
* Perform periodic upgrades of Business Objects as new versions become available.
* Apply security patches, bug fixes, and performance enhancements as released by the vendors.
* Conduct pre-upgrade assessments, including compatibility checks and testing.
* Ensure minimal disruption by scheduling upgrades during agreed maintenance windows.
* Provide rollback procedures in case of upgrade failures.
System Monitoring And Performance Tuning
* Monitor system health, including server performance, memory usage, and query efficiency.
* Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise configurations to improve responsiveness.
* Provide recommendations on system scaling and capacity planning. User Support and Issue Resolution.
* Offer technical assistance to users experiencing issues with Tableau/Business Objects.
* Troubleshoot report generation failures, dashboard performance issues, and connectivity problems.
* Maintain a ticketing system for logging and tracking issues, with agreed response and resolution times.
Backup And Disaster Recovery Support
* Support in the regular backups of Tableau / Business Objects environments.
* Support recovery procedures in case of data corruption, server failures, or cyber incidents.
* Conduct periodic disaster recovery drills to validate system resilience.
Documentation And Reporting
* Maintain an updated knowledge base for troubleshooting and best practices.
* Provide periodic reports on system health, incidents, and resolutions.
* Document all patches, upgrades, and major changes in the environment.
