Butchery at Bowhouse is seeking a dynamic individual who has a passion for excellent food.
The day-to-day role will involve working alongside our current butchers, whilst learning about meat from the estate - birth to block, organic and regenerative farming systems, native breeds, traditional butchery techniques, and customer relationships.
The role will also involve cooking on our woodfired barbecue at markets and events, taking part in demonstrations and our regular Grass to Grill Estate tours.
Located in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife, surrounded by produce from land and sea, Bowhouse has an established a reputation for producing high quality food and drink from the local resources.
As an Organic and Pasture for Life Certified butchery, our customers actively support our methods. Supplying some of Scotland's top restaurants, retailing both at Bowhouse and online.
Butchery experience is not essential as training and qualifications will be provided. The most important attributes being a passion for food and a willingness to learn, and the ability to communicate with customers.
Being part of Balcaskie Estate allows us to work closely with the farming team to hand select livestock for the butchery. As the butchery only works with whole carcasses, this relationship means we can select the best animals.
We are able to offer flexibility in working hours, good rates of pay and only ask that applicants are able to work some weekends.

* A driving licence would be an advantage to assist with the delivery of produce to restaurants.
