About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to oversee a construction project on a part-time freelance basis. Acting on behalf of the client, you will be responsible for monitoring project progress, cost reporting, and ensuring the main contractor meets agreed milestones and deliverables.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a highly organised and commercially minded project manager who can work independently while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee day-to-day progress of the main contractor to ensure compliance with programme, quality standards, and budget.
2. Produce and maintain regular cost reports, highlighting key risks, forecasts, and variations.
3. Attend site meetings and report on construction progress to the client.
4. Liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and keep the project on track.
5. Monitor programme milestones and flag potential delays or cost impacts early.
6. Support procurement processes and contract administration where necessary.
7. Ensure all work complies with relevant health & safety and statutory requirements.
Requirements:
8. Proven experience as a project manager in the construction sector.
9. Strong knowledge of cost reporting and financial tracking tools.
10. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
11. Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
12. Understanding of construction programmes and contract administration (e.g. JCT or NEC).
Working Pattern:
13. Part-time – .2–3 days per week site based
