Authorised Persons – Hinkley Point C June Starts Long-Term Opportunities Day & Night Shift Roles 11 Days On / 3 Days Off Mactech is recruiting experienced Authorised Persons for direct engagement opportunities with our client at Hinkley Point C – one of Europe's largest and most advanced nuclear construction projects. This critical role involves the safe management and oversight of low voltage electrical systems in accordance with strict safety standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities: • Establish and manage the Permit Office per the Electrical Safe Working Procedure (ESWP). • Implement and ensure compliance with the Site Specific Electrical Safety Plan (SSESP). • Assess and issue all site safety equipment including Arc Flash PPE, voltage indicators, and test equipment. • Manage energisation of systems and assess local areas prior to power-on. • Perform daily inspections of energised switchrooms/risers ensuring cleanliness, access control, and safety compliance. • Issue, manage, and withdraw permits (Permit to Work, Live Test, Limitation of Access) as per SSESP requirements. • Maintain Permit documentation and key security. • Investigate incidents, report findings, and liaise with Authorising Engineer and EHS teams. • Review and assess RAMS for both Company and subcontractor electrical work. • Train and verify competence of Competent Persons under your supervision. • Operate LV switchgear within scope of authorisation. Essential Competencies & Qualifications: • Demonstrable experience as a competent Electrician on major construction projects. • Strong knowledge of inspection, testing, verification, and certification procedures (C&G 2391 or equivalent). • Completion of a recognised external LV Authorised Person course. • Understanding of: o Electricity at Work Regulations o BS 7671 Wiring Regulations (current edition) o Relevant codes of practice and guidance documents Required Certifications: Suitable candidates will have undertaken in house or external training (e.g AP10) and must hold one qualification from each category below: 1. Level 3 or equivalent Electrical Installation Apprenticeship or ECS Gold Card plus 2. AM2 or FICA plus 3. CCNSG or ECS HS&E Test Rates of Pay (ECSA Site Agreement) – depending on experience: • Basic: £29.37 per hour • Overtime A: £41.12 • Overtime B: £52.87 • Milestone Bonus: up to £2.94 per hour • Lodge & Travel Allowances: Paid where applicable Work Pattern: • 11 days on / 3 days off • 10.5 hour shifts • Day and Night Shift roles available ADZN1_UKTJ
