Protecting Children, Supporting Families - Senior Social Worker (Assessment)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is recruiting an experienced Senior Children's Social Worker to join their Children's Assessment Team, based in Bridlington, on a locum basis.
This is a key frontline role for a confident, skilled practitioner with strong assessment and safeguarding experience, who can deliver high-quality, child-centred practice and provide professional leadership within a fast-paced assessment environment.
The Role
1. Meaningful engagement with children, adolescents and families
2. Producing high-quality, evidence-based single and statutory assessments
3. Working collaboratively with partner agencies and wider family networks
4. Developing and implementing robust safety planning
5. Producing high-quality, SMART interim plans and Child in Need plans
6. Meaningful participation in strategy discussions
7. Undertaking Section 47 investigations
8. Escalating cases to Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) and producing clear, analytical, evidence-based reports
9. Undertaking court work where required
About You
10. Qualified Social Worker with significant post-qualifying experience in children's services
11. ABE (Achieving Best Evidence) trained - essential
12. Strong experience within Children's Assessment Teams
13. Confident in risk assessment, decision-making and threshold application
14. Able to work autonomously while contributing to a supportive team environment
