+ Weekly driving/operating crane and working on sewage treatment sites - therefore the role will entail being away from home Monday to Friday on a regular basis. + You will be required to take the lead role in all lifting operations and securing loads and be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the lorry and crane. + Working week will involve lifting, removing, and installing machinery plus working as part of the Mechanical/electrical engineering team that is likely to involve some manual fitting work. + Working outside in all weathers. PPE clothing will be provided. + Overnight stays in the cab of the lorry. + If required, work on a Saturday morning to undertake a thorough weekly clean and routine maintenance of the lorry and load the lorry for the forthcoming week.
* Must hold current valid UK driving licence and ideally have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
* Able to carry out work some distance from base which will require overnight stays.
* Able to work outside on sites which are connected with wastewater (Sewage).
* Capable of working at heights from scaffold platforms, ladders, or mechanical equipment.
* Undertake training and work as part of a confined space team.
* Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling, or crouching.
* Must take pride in his vehicle and keep it clean, tidy, and serviceable.
Competence and Qualifications:
* C+E/HGV 1 licence
* LOLER 1998 appreciation and awareness
* Valid driver's CPC and Digi card
* Crane Operators licence
* Confined spaces to City and Guilds is desirable
* Slinger/crane supervisor
* Mechanical Engineering background is desirable.
Skills & Attributes:
* + At least 2 years' Class 1 driving experience + Qualified crane operator with experience + Experience of British Standard Code of Practice for the safe use of cranes BS7121 + Experience of loading flatbed wagons and securing loads + Basic knowledge of industrial mechanical fitting + Basic Knowledge of Health & Safety issues in connection with the construction industry. + Ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure work is completed within set timescales. + Be friendly, professional, reliable with good people skills who enjoys supporting and working as part of a team. + Able to communicate effectively to the customers, company management & staff. + To work as part of a team and to co-operate with other staff / trades. + Conduct the work activities in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the company
