Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welding Fabricator Foreman to lead and execute metal fabrication projects across various sectors, including construction, industrial, and bespoke manufacturing. This role combines hands-on welding and fabrication with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Welding:
* Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
* Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, on materials such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
* Operate fabrication machinery, including plasma cutters, press brakes, and grinders.
* Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets industry standards and client specifications.
Project Leadership:
* Plan and oversee daily operations on-site or in the workshop.
* Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery.
* Manage procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project completion.
* Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
Team Supervision:
* Lead and mentor a team of welders and fabricators, providing guidance and training as needed.
* Assign tasks based on team members' skills and project requirements.
* Monitor team performance, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Health & Safety Compliance:
* Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations on all projects.
* Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
* Ensure all team members are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and trained in safe work practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in welding and metal fabrication, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
* Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a foreman or supervisory role.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Valid certifications in welding (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3) are advantageous.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in the UK construction and manufacturing sectors.
