Consultant - Stroke Services

We are looking to add to our established Stroke Servicesteam byappointing to a substantive, whole time (10PA) consultantposition, to supportexpansion of stroke services, development of mechanical thrombectomy.
The post holder will be expected to participate in Stroke on calls which includes covering out of hours on call for NNUH, QEH and JPUH as part of Norfolk & Waveney University Hospitals Group

Main duties of the job
You will be based atthe Norfolk and Norwich UniversityHospital (NNUH), contributing towardsthe 7 daysa week stroke consultantward roundsto all ofour hyper acute stroke patients. There isan on-call rota specificallyforStroke only, with a frequencyofapproximately1 in 7 with prospective coverincluding Thrombolysis and Mechanical Thrombectomy referral to CUH.
Teaching responsibilitiesare shared with the stroke consultant colleagues and specialtytrainees and consistsofa repeating programme oflectures, seminarsand tutorials. You may also participate in the teaching programme forthe UniversityofEastAnglia (UEA) medical studentsand otherclinical professionalsinvolved with the Stroke pathway. You will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research studies.
The Job Plan ForStroke Consultantrole Will Include:
Thrombolysis and Thrombectomy referrals
Hyper Acute Stroke Unit(HASU) ward round
Acute Stroke Unit(ASU) ward round
Rehabilitation Unitward round
Administration time
TIA Clinic
CPD to develop own specialist stroke service interests.
The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.

We provide a wide range of consultant-led outpatient services, day case operations and a Minor Injuries Unit (MIU). The trust is commemorated 150 years of a hospital in Cromer in 2017/18.
