Job Title: Principal Civil Engineer
Location: Based near Glasgow
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
* Leading the design of a wide array of engineering developments
* Managing the day-to-day running of projects, including financing, resourcing, scheduling, and delivering
* Mentoring and supporting colleagues within their respective roles, encouraging and overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Managing and supporting clients and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors
* Preparing, checking, and submitting technical reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, method statements, and other documents
* Upholding company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
* Contributing to the company's business development and growth, acting as a representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.
Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering
* Possess Chartered Status
* Demonstrable experience of working in a design role, within a UK-based consultancy setting
* Extensive experience of working with infrastructure (drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects
* Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
* Highly proficient in the use of various software packages, including Civils 3D, InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.
* Demonstrable experience of writing, correcting, and amending a variety of reports
* Experience of managing projects and people
* Considerable experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
* Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:
* Previous experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments
* Some experience of preparing Transport Assessments
* Experience of working in a public-facing role
