Retail Security Officer
Location: Debden / Waltham Cross / Harlow
Rate: £13.54 per hour. Friday and Saturday shifts included. Must have DS Licence. Own transport an advantage.
Job Overview
* Protect customers’ property, people and/or Straße assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any subsequent changes.
* Deliver results that meet and/or exceed Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreements for the customer through full responsibility and accountability.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development.
Main Duties
Operations
* Ensure compliance with all policies, legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on 김 separate as defined by the published Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
* Proactively review the Assignment Instructions, familiarize yourself with any changes, and плотс propose additional amendments to improve the service level.
* Be compliant with Industry and Statutory Legislation; required front‑line licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and wear it at all times. A CCTV PSS SIA Licence is also required. Additional courses contractually required.
* Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
* Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work in a systematic, methodological, and orderly way.
Training
* Complete all required competency training satisfactorily.
* Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Look out for and immediately report any Health & Safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
* Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry immediately after any incident, which will then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
* Call emergency services and the Communications Centre to report all incidents.
