We are recruiting for a Criminal Justice Support Worker to join a genuinely brilliant project in Chatham supporting ex-offenders to rebuild their lives. This is not a cold, clinical service. The environment is calm, welcoming and intentionally relaxed, more like a safe community hub than a formal office. There’s a pool table, a small gym area, and space for people to feel comfortable, build trust, and engage at their own pace. The service supports people with multiple barriers, and your job is to help them move forward through practical guidance, encouragement, and consistent 1-2-1 support. What you’ll be doing: You will be supporting participants with areas such as: Overcoming practical obstacles such as obtaining ID, registering with a GP or dentist, and securing or maintaining accommodation Supporting people with wider barriers such as low confidence, low literacy or numeracy, and motivation challenges Helping people access employability support such as CV writing, job applications, interview preparation, and disclosure guidance Facilitating practical courses and learning where appropriate (including vocational learning, basic skills and financial literacy) Providing 1-2-1 support and group-based activities so participants can build confidence and routines Supporting people to work through structured learning such as recorded sessions or workbooks Helping people access partner services and communit...
