Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Chef to join our Indian culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation and production, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation, and **MUST** have experience in tandoor. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Assistant Chef will also play a key role in supervising kitchen staff, fostering teamwork, and maintaining an organised workspace.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in daily food preparation and cooking tasks.
* Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes.
* Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations.
* Assist with training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
* Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or catering environment.
* Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen setting.
* Experience in tandoor and curries
* A passion for culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the industry.
