Overview
Psychosexual Therapist/Specialist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The post holders will be responsible for the assessment, planning and provision of psychosexual treatment/counselling. They will provide clinical supervision to other staff, students and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in their own specialist area. They will ensure the safety and well-being of service users, and always work in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person-centered care principles.
The Counsellor specialist in Psychosexual Therapy is required to manage a caseload of clients presenting with a variety of sexual and relationship concerns. They are to assess and then provide ongoing psychosexual therapy to the individual or couple. When necessary they will refer on to other specialist disciplines or services, in particular for medical advice or assessment. The post holders are to maintain client records and confidentiality. The posts involve working both independently and also as part of a multidisciplinary team.
