About the role
An opportunity has arisen within the Advanced Remanufacturing Department for a Workshop Assistant. This entry level position will be based at our facilities in Dyce, Aberdeen. This role involves a variety of tasks to assist workshop processing of gas turbine components.

An overview of your day
* Cleaning components using mechanical parts washers & manually degreasing of components.
* Use of oven to dry components.
* Preparation of parts using blast cabinets.
* Operate super polishing machine to achieve the desired smooth finish.
* Use forklifts / stacker truck to load and unload materials.
* Ensure that the correct standards of material handling are always observed.
* Organise own workload whilst ensuring the workshop remains organised and efficient.
* Maintain good housekeeping in work areas and perform other related or comparable duties as assigned (5's).
* The successful candidate will work dayshift.
What we need from you
* Experience in a similar role or workshop / practical work experience is desirable but not essential, all training will be provided.
* Mechanical background – desirable.
* Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* A good knowledge of HS&E procedures and COSHH assessments.
* Previous forklift truck experience – desirable, training will be provided.
* Driving License.
