Job overview

To provide line management and clinical leadership to an identified team within the CAMHS Care Hub. The postholder will provide leadership and development of a multi-disciplinary team ensure effective service delivery of clinical pathways.

To lead in accordance with trust policies procedures and values.
To be accountable to the Operational Manager for the performance management of the team and the quality of the work undertaken.
To have oversight and manage supervision for team members undertaking clinical interventions such as assessment and a range of interventions/managing caseloads.


To provide clinical support and leadership to the team alongside clinical leaders.


Main duties of the job

* Undertake responsibility for the line management of a multi-disciplinary team.
• To be part of the senior leadership team within CAMHS/MHST.
• Ensure team compliance with relevant Trust policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
• To hold regular team meetings and develop the team.
• Overall responsibility of day-to-day organisation of staff and work priorities of the team.
• Responsible for patient flow within the team considering capacity and demand within the team.
• Work with clinical leaders to determine prioritisation of allocation of work.

Person specification


Education / Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Professionally registered qualification with current registration with NMC, Social Work England or HCPC OR Children and young person wellbeing practitioner- must be registered with the BABCP/BPS OR Educational mental health practitioner- must be registered with the BABCP/BPS


Desirable criteria

* Completion of Preparation for Mentorship / Practice Teacher / Fieldwork Educator qualification.
* Management or leadership qualification, or training for supervision and staff development.


Experience


Essential criteria

* Substantial post qualification experience of working within a health delivered child and adolescent mental health service or Mental health support teams or adult mental health services
* Experience in the provision of clinical and line management supervision and annual appraisal


Knowledge


Essential criteria

* Highly developed knowledge of mental health issues in children and young people
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and National Policies in relation to children and young people.
* Highly developed knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions with this client group
* Working knowledge of NICE guidance in the treatment of mental health problems for children and young people
* Knowledge of risk management issues


Desirable criteria

* Knowledge and experience of working with young people with learning disability
* Evidence of Post qualifying training courses/ certificates

* Evidence of the ability to lead, motivate and manage a group
* Ability to manage own emotions and deal with others in highly charged situations
* Experience of governance processes, including responding to complaints and completing investigations following incidents.
* Ability to manage the performance of staff in a consistent and sensitive manner.
* Ability to produce written reports that are clear, unambiguous and produced with agreed timescales.
* Ability to perform complex assessments as an autonomous practitioner across a range of mental health conditions
* Ability to develop packages of care based on assessed needs.
* Ability to develop a range of therapeutic activities across a range of settings.
* Ability to identify and manage risk in individuals presenting with mental health needs.
* Ability to provide and receive complex sensitive or contentious information often within a hostile, antagonistic or highly emotive atmosphere.

* Supervision/ training capacity with professionals.
* Ability to develop liaison/links and familiarity with other professional networks.
* Ability to prioritise key tasks, and targets for intervention.
* Ability to evaluate service initiatives for effectiveness/ outcome.
