Overview
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust offers a trainee position for a registered professional to join Breast Advanced Clinical Practitioner team. The post holder will be fully supported in their professional development, with access to funded university modules and specialist training including the Clinical Breast Examination Master’s module and genetics‑focused education.
Key Responsibilities
* Play a key role in outpatient services including two‑week wait breast assessment clinics, family history risk and prevention clinics, and newly launched benign results clinic.
* Help shape innovative patient pathways and make a meaningful difference to those affected by breast disease.
* Work alongside breast surgeons, radiologists, clinical nurse specialists, and oncology colleagues within a multidisciplinary environment.
Qualifications and Development
* Applicants who meet required competencies may be offered a Band 8a contract upon appointment.
* Training includes delivery of an advanced level of clinical practice under supervision of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Designated Medical Practitioner.
* Development of knowledge and skills to provide expert clinical management and care to patients within the speciality area.
* Completion of a clinical portfolio evidencing HEE capabilities for advanced clinical practice and speciality‑specific competencies while working towards a recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
