About the Role
The Associate Testing Engineer will work with the Hardware Optimisation and Technical Team to ensure we test and validate our products to prevent defects escaping to our customers. Your focus will be upon driving quality and efficiency in testing to deliver a reliable and dependable charging experience for our customers.
The position will be initially based in Milton Keynes before permanently relocating to new testing facilities in either Nuneaton or Coventry (expected by March 2026). Regular travel to temporary testing facilities will be required in the interim.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining safety in testing and of our testing facilities and their operation including training and risk management.
* Conducting comprehensive testing of hardware at both components and system level, applying conventional and automated testing procedures.
* Analysing test results, documenting findings, and providing recommendations for improvements.
* Verifying testing results of external testing providers.
* Collaboration with businesses, product specialists, software engineering, local operations and certification.
* Supporting continuous improvement process including root cause analysis, identification of corrective actions, validation and prevent recurrence.
* Staying updated with the latest advancements in EV charging technology, testing methodologies, and safety standards.
Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Science.
Required Skills
* Experience in conducting Safety Risk Assessments.
* Electrical Safety Trained.
* EV experience is an advantage
* Experience in the testing of electrical / electronic and automotive products.
* Knowledge in key charging standards e.g IEC61851-1, ISO15118, UL, SAE and protocols such as Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) and Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI).
* Knowledge of continuous improvement process and forward quality.
* Experience in relevant testing and validation.
