The National Space Centre is looking to hire a Maintenance Engineer to work within the Building Service team to consistently produce a high standard of maintenance within the Centre, and to be responsible for the day-to-day building maintenance and repair for our centre including responsive and planned maintenance.
Full-Time: 35 hours per week.
Salary: £27,558 to £29,625 depending upon skills and experience

Key Responsibilities
* To be responsible for the day-to-day building maintenance and repair for our centre including responsive and planned maintenance.
* To manage all services including heat, light, water, plumbing and ventilation to ensure they work at peak efficiency using the Building Management System to increase cost effectiveness.
* To diagnose faults with the building facilities and to work pro-actively to repair and return to good working order.
* To undertake daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
* To be responsible for all equipment and tools in the workshop ensuring maintenance requirements are met and the area is maintained in a safe, clean, and tidy manner.
* To work with the maintenance team leader on planned third party maintenance via contractors.
* To work safely and carry out risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safety checks.
* To work flexibly within the company to ensure the needs of the business are met.
* While undertaking duties, always maintain the highest standard of customer care and customer service and be approachable and courteous.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and carry out risk assessments for all duties.
* To undertake any other tasks consummate with the post, as directed by the Building Services Manager or other members of the management team.
* Undertake in-house and external training as necessary.

* A broad spectrum of general maintenance skills across a range of disciplines including plumbing, carpentry, electrics, painting and mechanical.
* Team player with the ability to liaise cross departmentally to meet requirements.

* Licence to operate a cherry picker/ mobile platform (desirable)
