Research assistant - Fixed Term
Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics & Public Health Group
This is a fixed-term role within the equine epidemiology team of the Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics, and Public Health group. The successful candidate will work on a large-scale project funded by the Horserace Betting Levy Board, investigating musculoskeletal injuries in Flat and National Hunt racehorses in training. Responsibilities include data collection, entry, preliminary analysis, and communication of research outputs, with close interaction with project participants and industry stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to improving the health, welfare, and safety of racehorses in Great Britain.
Ideal candidates will be proactive, adaptable team players with a veterinary or relevant biological sciences degree and/or postgraduate qualification, and previous research experience. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to liaise effectively with industry stakeholders. Experience with observational epidemiological research and statistical analyses, as well as some knowledge of the racing industry, is desirable.
