Overview

Chief Executive Officer role at Sworn Attorney in Private Practice. North Wales Wildlife Trust is seeking a CEO to provide strategic and operational leadership to fulfil its charitable objectives and deliver its mission effectively and sustainably while continuing to grow.

We are looking for a leader who can shape and implement the strategic plan, manage people and resources, maintain financial health, and build strong relationships with membership, funders, and the wider community. The role is hybrid (after settling in period) and ideally based in North Wales with office facilities in Bangor or Aberduna. There will be regular travel to off-site meetings.

The CEO will be ultimately responsible for governance, fundraising, public trust and social impact, and for representing Wildlife Trusts at a federation level to help secure wildlife wins beyond our borders.

Closing Date: 30 September 2025. Salary: Circa £75,000 + Relocation Package & Bonus. Location: North Wales (Bangor or Aberduna office locations). Employment Type: Full time, Permanent.


Responsibilities

We’re looking for a leader who can:

* Provide strategic and operational leadership to fulfil the Trust’s charitable objectives and deliver its mission effectively and sustainably.
* Shape and implement the strategic plan; manage people and resources; maintain financial health.
* Build strong relationships with membership, funders, and the wider community.
* Ensure governance, fundraising, and social impact are carried out to the highest standard.
* Represent the Trust as an active member of the federation of Wildlife Trusts to secure wildlife wins beyond the Trust’s borders.
* Travel regularly to off-site meetings as required.


Qualifications and Experience

* An experienced senior manager with a degree (or degree-equivalent qualification).
* Experience of organisational leadership within a financially accountable organisation (charitable, public, or private sector).
* Proven commercial strategy / business experience with the ability to generate and manage diverse income streams (partnerships, grants, trading, or other activities).
* Experience with a wide range of stakeholders and partners and working with them to achieve programme aims.
* Strong data and IT abilities.
* Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
* Strong Project Management experience.
* A strong understanding of environmental issues, including ecology, conservation, agriculture, fishing, climate change and related pressures.

Welsh language skills are not essential but highly desirable. The successful candidate, if not fluent, should be committed to learning Welsh and to supporting Welsh culture as integral to land management and nature recovery.
