We are looking for a Registered Nurse with a passion for respiratory Nursing . This role will be mainly covering the Interstitial lung disease service but will be working within the respiratory nurse team so may sometimes cross cover for other respiratory conditions.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

Responsible for the organisation and management of the service alongside the lead consultant.Provide clinical expertise and leadership to relevant staff within and outside UHS, in order to inform service provision and development.Demonstrate awareness of national and local guidelines relating to specialty (e.g., NICE guidelines) and influence care developments in accordance with these.Identify, contribute to or lead on aspects in the development and dissemination of evidence-based guidelines, standards and protocols as required and implement change to improve the quality of nursing care.Contribute to trust peer reviews and any focused CQC style reviews.Actively contribute to achieving the clinical governance goals/targets set by the trust and department and comply with reporting schedules for monitoring and reporting on clinical outcomes. Includes auditing of services.Be proactive in the prevention and management of complaints (formal and those via Patient Advice and Liaison Service) and when they occur investigate and respond in a timely manner. Use any learning to share widely with the multidisciplinary team and to improve care delivery.Promote effective communication with staff members across organisational boundaries and provide support to those dealing with patients who are either newly diagnosed or in late stages of their illness.Promote the health and well-being of MDT, patients and their carers. Making every contact count.Comply and promote compliance with Trust policies and guidelines e.g., Health and Safety, Clinical Risk and Infection Control.Take appropriate action to address unexpected changes and situations, informing the Matron/HoN or manager if unable to resolve.Responsible for any pay and non-pay budgets to ensure good housekeeping and economic use of resources.Work closely with partners, resolving any relevant issues and escalate when issues cannot be resolved.Utilise user feedback to inform TB team and to facilitate service developmentAttend relevant department and management meetings. Work closely with ward link nurses (as applicable) to ensure ward training needs are met to ensure high quality evidence-based care delivery; there is good communication and dissemination of information.Network with other specialty teams to share good practice and bring back new ideas to improve the local service.Attend local, regional and national networks/meetings and working parties as required ensuring learning contributes to the evidence base.Present at seminars/conferences/meetings to raise profile of team and department. Submit articles for publication in peer review or other appropriate journals.The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring that the whole patient journey is as positive as it can be. This will be undertaken by ensuring that care is evidence based and by assisting with the implementation of DoH standards, for example those outlined within the National Service Frameworks, Royal College of Physicians Clinical Guidelines and those within the Healthcare Standards.To ensure that nursing and therapy care standards are high by ensuring clinical care is evidence based and by participating in local audit cycles.To ensure patients have confidence in the Trust’s workforce by acting as a senior resource for the Trust by challenging, and acting upon, inappropriate behaviour or attitude when witnessed or identified.To ensure that patient safety is of paramount priority by ensuring key patient safety aspects are widely implemented. For example, good infection-control practice, observation of patients at risk of self-harm etc.Contribute to the development and application of systems to reduce clinical incidents and falls. Ensure that that reporting of clinical risk is appropriate and recorded in time frames that are in accordance with Trust policy. Management of any related incidents.The post holder will ensure that there is a culture of fully engaging patients and relatives with the planning of their care and with subsequent decisions.To actively seek patient opinions, in liaison with the PALS, devising local systems that engage a range of patients (including those of hard to reach groups) and devising and implementing an appropriate action plan.Provide education to patients and relatives on an individual basis as required and consider developing support groupsPerson specification
