An opportunity has arisen to join our team as an Evidence Recovery Technician, based at the Chemical Enhancement Laboratory, Laindon.
This challenging role involves receiving submissions from crime scenes, determining appropriate forensic examination techniques, applying chemical treatments, and examining exhibits for fingerprints.
Fingerprints will need to be recorded and photographed to provide forensic evidence to assist in crime detection. All processes are carried out according to standard operating procedures to maintain laboratory accreditation.
You will work as part of a team, organizing workloads, providing specialist advice to investigators, and preparing reports for Court.
Applications are invited from candidates who meet the essential criteria. Aptitude will be tested during the interview for shortlisted candidates.

* Self-motivated with initiative and teamwork skills
* Good organizational skills to prioritize workloads
* Excellent attention to detail
Desirable skills include previous experience working with standard operating procedures and in an accredited laboratory environment.
Location and Hours
Based at Durham House, Laindon.
Working Monday - Friday between 07:00 and 20:00, plus two weekends in nine, 0800-1600.

Salary increases within the band will raise the maximum salary to £40,890.00.
