Position: Personal Trainer (PT) - 24 hours per week
Pay: £14.91 per hour

Your Role
As a Personal Trainer at Alive & Well, you will be the energetic and enthusiastic face our members look forward to seeing. Your mission? To inspire and support individuals of all ages and fitness levels—from newcomers to seasoned athletes. You’ll ensure that every member receives more than they expect from their gym experience, fostering a culture of open communication and regular check-ins.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Maximize every member and guest’s experience through engaging inductions, 30-minute PT sessions, classes, gym floor coverage, and reception duties.
* Build strong relationships to support membership sales and retention through outstanding customer service.
* Welcome members at reception, handle inquiries, manage class bookings, and maintain a professional front-of-house presence.
* Process new memberships and renewals, providing information on options and offers while managing gym membership software.
* Collaborate with the Gym Supervisor to create a best-in-class experience across all areas, including gym floor, classes, and member welcomes.
* Address member feedback—both positive and negative—and ensure appropriate follow-up with management.
* Contribute to content generation for Birchwood Park and Alive & Well’s communication channels, including social media.
* Stay updated on current fitness trends and challenges, sharing insights with the team and participating actively.
* Act as a competent key holder, covering shifts as needed.
* Support the gym and Birchwood Park teams in delivering exceptional experiences and generating ideas for events and fundraising.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facilities, actively participating in upkeep.
Qualifications – Required
* Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (REPs or CIMSPA registered).
* Level 2 Fitness Instructor certification with experience leading group exercise classes.
* Proven ability to deliver a variety of classes, especially:
o Pilates (strongly preferred)
o Spinning (must)
o HIIT
o Tabata
o Dance
* Emergency First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete upon employment).
* Previous experience in a commercial or community gym setting.
