Responsibilities
* Maintain, service and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic components of police vehicles and plant to agreed standards.
* Carry out safety inspections, diagnostic testing and problem solving.
* Attend vehicle breakdowns and complete documentation work including job sheets, service sheets, time sheets and stores requisitions.
* Work in a motor vehicle workshop environment; use up-to-date health & safety knowledge; and work with various vehicle model types.
* Demonstrate good organisational and communication skills, both oral and written, and work as part of a team or on your own initiative.
* Hold a full current driving licence (essential).
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in a motor vehicle workshop environment.
* A motor vehicle related apprenticeship and a City & Guilds Motor Vehicle (Mechanical/Electrical) Technicians 1 & 2 or equivalent.
* Desirable: experience in a main dealership or similar organisation.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.
