We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant in Intelligent Robotics for Manufacturing in the Digital Manufacturing Group. In this role, you will support the development of advanced systems that enable robots to perform complex manufacturing tasks requiring physical interaction with high adaptability and precision. Working at the intersection of robotics, artificial intelligence, and automation, you'll create solutions that address real industrial challenges and transform manufacturing capabilities.
The position is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) through the “Robotic Skill Transfer and Augmentation for contact-rich tasks in Manufacturing” project (STAMAN). STAMAN is a UK-based manufacturing research programme, established with the aim of advancing the application of robotics in complex manufacturing processes. As part of this prestigious UK-based research initiative, you'll collaborate with leading experts across academia and industry to advance the application of robotics in complex manufacturing processes.
