Job Purpose We are seeking an experienced NVH CAE & Simulation Engineer to engineer AML vehicle acoustic performance. The role is responsible for developing, running, and validating acoustic simulation models to lead design decisions, target setting, and optimisation of interior and exterior vehicle sound quality. The successful candidate will collaborate with vehicle engineering, body, interior, powertrain, and CAE teams to ensure NVH targets are achieved and deliver a refined, premium acoustic experience. Key duties and responsibilities Acoustic CAE & Simulation: Develop, maintain, and execute vehicle acoustic models for interior and exterior noise analysis. Perform simulations to predict airborne and structure-borne noise, road noise, wind noise, and vibration-induced sound.: Using virtual tools to simulate the cabin sound experience Virtual Acoustics - not only see but also listen to the NVH results of their design, enabling subjective evaluation. Develop and advise acoustic trade-off studies and design optimisation to improve perceived vehicle quality.: Evaluate material, trim, sealing, and component effects on acoustic performance.: Model Validation & Correlation: Responsible to ensure simulation predictions are correlated with physical test data from prototypes and production vehicles.: Ensure acoustic models accurately reflect real-world vehicle behaviour.: Perform sensitivity analysis to identify dominant noise sources and mitigation strategies.: Tools, Methods & Continuous Improvement: Apply advanced CAE techniques, including FEM and BEM acoustic modelling, vibro-acoustic analysis, and modal analysis.: Maintain simulation workflows, templates, and documentation.: Contribute to continuous improvement of NVH CAE processes and practices Experience and qualifications Required Qualifications & Experience Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Acoustic, or related Engineering discipline. Strong experience in vehicle acoustic simulation and NVH CAE. Knowledge of vehicle acoustic phenomena: airborne noise, structure-borne noise, road noise, and wind noise. Proven experience correlating CAE models with test data. Familiarity with vehicle interior trim, sealing, and material contributions to NVH performance. Technical Skills Acoustic simulation tools (e.g., LMS Virtual.Lab, Actran, Simcenter 3D, COMSOL Multiphysics). Structural and vibration analysis (Nastran, Abaqus, or similar). Data analysis and scripting (MATLAB, Python). Experience with vehicle NVH testing methods (microphones, accelerometers, sound intensity mapping). Desirable Attributes Experience with EV acoustic challenges (high-frequency tonal noise, absence of engine masking). Exposure to wind noise or aeroacoustics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to clearly communicate complex acoustic findings to engineers and stakeholders. Hands-on, proactive, and detail-oriented approach Additional requirement The requirement to work on-site 3 days a week as minimal. Flexibility on start and finish times due to events and different locations is required.
