SEN Teaching Assistant ( SEMH )
We are working with a specialist SEMH provision in Canterbury supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, who are looking to welcome a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to their team.
This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be supporting pupils who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education, helping them to re-engage with learning, develop emotional regulation, and build confidence in a safe and structured environment.
The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
* Help manage behaviour positively, using a calm and consistent approach
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, tailored lessons
* Encourage personal development, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
What We're Looking For: SEN Teaching Assistant
* A resilient, patient, and empathetic individual
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A proactive and positive attitude
* Experience working with children or young people is desirable (SEN experience is a bonus, not essential)
* Backgrounds in care, youth work, sports coaching, or support work are highly transferable
