South West London Pathology (SWLP) is a partnership between four leading hospital trusts: St George's University Hospitals NHS Trust, Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, and Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. It aims to provide integrated, high-quality pathology services across South West London.
We are seeking a full-time HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to work within the Clinical Blood Sciences laboratory at Epsom and St Helier hospitals. Applications are invited from qualified and motivated State Registered Biomedical Scientists to join our well-established team in this busy UKAS Accredited department.
The Biomedical Scientists in the Haematology and Blood Transfusion section work on Immucor BT analysers, Sysmex CN and XN analysers. The Alinity analysers are used in Biochemistry automation, along with other specialist analysers including Waters TQD, Sebia Capillary electrophoresis, and Agilent HPLC.
This position is for 37.5 hours per week, primarily based at St Helier Hospital, with possible rotation across other SWLP sites. The successful candidate will work a 24/7 shift pattern, including nights, weekends, Bank Holidays, lates, and early shifts.
We are recruiting Band 5 BMSs to support routine Biochemistry, Haematology, Haemostasis screening, and Blood Transfusion services. There are opportunities for multidisciplinary training and rotation through specialised tests such as manual Chemistry and Haemoglobinopathy analysis.
