Base Location: Gilwell Park, Chingford/Hybrid (1-2 days in the office a week, including 6-8 weekends through the year
Term: Permanent
Salary: £48,235 per annum, Band G, Level 3. Inc. OLW (Hybrid Working)
Hours: 35 hours per week

A bit about the role
Scouts is looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Lead to help shape policy and influence decisions that improve opportunities for young people across the UK.
You’ll lead our public affairs work, build strong relationships with decision makers, and support young people and volunteers to have their voices heard. Working closely with colleagues across communications, fundraising and programmes, you’ll help turn insight and evidence into positive change.
What you’ll do
1. Lead Scouts’ UK policy and public affairs activity
2. Build relationships with politicians, civil servants and partners
3. Support young people and volunteers to take part in influencing work
4. Develop clear, evidence-based policy positions
5. Track political developments and share updates with colleagues
This role is ideal if you have experience influencing policy, communicate clearly, and are motivated by making a positive difference for young people.
