As a Yard Operative in Salfords, you will play a key role in supporting customers, maintaining the yard, and ensuring the efficient and safe handling of building materials. Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent role of 44.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:00, with alternate Saturdays from 08:00 to 12:00.

Main Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service by assisting with loading and unloading of goods for trade and retail customers
* Efficiently and safely handle, move, and store various building materials, timber, and fencing products
* Ensure the yard is kept clean, organised, and compliant with health & safety standards at all times
* Support stock checks, deliveries, and incoming goods processes using appropriate equipment
* Operate forklift trucks and other yard machinery responsibly (training provided if required)
* Identify and report any damaged or faulty stock or equipment
* Assist drivers with loading and vehicle checks, following procedure and safety guidance
* Maintain stock accuracy by following company systems and standards
* Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a positive and efficient team environment
* Actively contribute to continuous improvement of yard operations
Skills & Experience – What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience working in a yard, builders’ merchant, warehouse, or similar environment (essential)
* Strong focus on health & safety protocols and safe manual handling practices
* Good organisational skills and attention to detail
* Clear and confident communication abilities
* Adaptable, reliable, and a positive team player
* Forklift licence (essential)
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
* Keen to learn and develop new skills
* Professional, respectful, and committed to excellent customer service
