GSL Education are recruiting a Behaviour Support/Mentor to work within schools in Wakefield, WF4, supporting pupils who need guidance with behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation. As a Behaviour Support/Mentor, you will build trusting relationships with pupils, helping them understand expectations, manage challenges, and develop strategies that support learning and personal growth. Prime Responsibilities: Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group behavioural support. Implement behaviour strategies and agreed intervention plans. Encourage positive choices, self-regulation, and emotional awareness. Support pupils during challenging moments and key transitions. Record progress and communicate updates with relevant staff. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people in a school or support role, ideally as a Behaviour Support/Mentor. A degree in Education, Psychology, SEN or CACHE Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is desirable but not mandatory. A clear understanding of behaviour management approaches. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A calm, consistent, and professional manner. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
