Overview
We are seeking a talented and reliable Chef or Cook to prepare either Bar Snacks or a full restaurant menu. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a real passion for the industry. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while delivering exceptional dining experiences. The premises will serve food each Friday & Saturday 4-8pm and Sunday 2-8pm however these hours are negotiable and we would be keen to open on a Thursday evening also if the right candidate came along and wanted more hours
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
* Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
* Assist in the development of new menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and best practices.
* Serve meals to guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience through attentive service.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
* Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and cooking.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
* Previous kitchen experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity in meal preparation techniques.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* A creative mindset with the ability to contribute to menu development.
