Telford College is seeking a Senior HR Advisor (Term Time) to join our expanding HR team during a period of growth and development. The role provides expert guidance on management and employee relations, leads complex casework, supports policy development, and monitors KPIs to deliver a high‑quality, people‑focused HR service across the College.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide timely and accurate HR advice and support to managers and staff on a broad range of employment matters, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and college policies.
* Manage and support a range of employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
* Attend and advise on formal hearings and investigations, working closely with managers and union representatives where necessary.
* Engage with stakeholders to ensure policies are practical, accessible, and aligned with the college’s strategic aims.
* Produce, analyse, and report on key HR metrics and performance indicators such as absence, turnover, recruitment activity, training, and casework.
* Support the identification of trends and contribute to action planning to improve HR service delivery and workforce performance.
Skills & Expertise
* Experience advising on a range of HR issues, including casework.
* Strong experience of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitively and assertively.
* Ability to manage a high volume workload, maintaining a high level of personal organisation and meeting deadlines.
* Attention to detail and high level of accuracy for data and report / letter writing.
Qualifications & Training
* CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent HR qualification/experience.
* Minimum of Level 2 in English & Maths.
