Plymouth CommunityDental Service is looking for experienced, friendly and supportive dentalnurses to work alongside clinicians undertaking urgent care clinics provided to the people of Plymouth who are not registered with a dental practice.
The post holder will join a bank of Dental Nurses via NHSP and will be eligible to apply for posted clinic sessions according to personal availability.
Clinic sessions will be initially available Monday-Friday: 6pm-9pm and delivered at the Plymouth Dental Access Centre.
Main duties of the job
The Dental Nurse works as part of the clinical team to provide clinical care to un-registered patient requiring emergency dental treatment. The post holder will work alongside a dentist and be responsible for the set up and close of the surgery for each session. It is important that the Dental Nurse maintains a strong patient focus and pro-active approach to dealing with problems.

Plymouth CommunityDental Service is a referral based, specialist-led NHS dental provider providing high-quality specialist dentist services for the people of Plymouth and the local area, along with support with the routine dental need for paediatrics and urgent care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NEBDN qualification OR City & Guilds NVQ3 in Dental Nursing
* Registered as a Dental Nurse with the GDC with no restrictions
* GCSE English and Maths grade A-C (or equivalent)
* Knowledge of all the equipment and materials used in dental and surgical procedures
* Knowledge of key policies such as Health and Safety regulations and Cross Infection control measures
* Experience of carrying out clinical and administrative work without direct supervision
