Responsibilities
 1. Responsible for managing haematology inpatients.
 2. Holds own defined caseload.
 3. To perform Peripheral blood stem cell infusions.
 4. Be registered for IT chemotherapy check.
 5. Communicates complex, sensitive information effectively and empathetically to patients and relatives. Maintains personally generated observations in records.
 6. Assesses, develops, and implements evidence-based specialist nursing care programmes, pathways and advice for patients and relatives.
 7. Work as an expert practitioner in given area, acting as a resource for other interdisciplinary healthcare professions. Maintains a high profile in the clinical area, acting as a role model for good practice.
An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Haematology department for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the team.
Qualifications
 * Registered Nurse (NMC)
 * Qualification in Haematology and Acute care setting
 * SACT trained and willing to remain on SACT register
 * Leadership course / qualification (Essential criteria)
 * 3 years post qualification of which a considerable amount must be in acute Haematology
 * Evidence of recent appropriate clinical practice in haematology nursing
 * Experience of developing and implementing policies and protocols
 * Demonstrates ability to think laterally, creatively, and innovatively
 * Must have appropriate UK professional registration.
