Our Accountancy team is collaborative, supportive and inclusive. While you’ll be part of a professional finance function, you’ll also work closely and day-to-day with the Directorate and Service Area teams you support, becoming a familiar and trusted presence within those areas.
Accountants are closely aligned to parts of the Directorate and work regularly with Senior Leaders, managers and officers, ensuring finance is embedded in conversations early and reflects the realities of service delivery. This dual identity, part of a strong corporate Accountancy team and part of directorate teams, allows for meaningful relationships, better understanding and more practical financial advice.
Over the next 12–24 months, we are strengthening our approach to financial planning, improving digital reporting and continuing to embed strong finance business partnering across the Council. We value professional curiosity, healthy debate and giving people the space to think, question and improve how things are done.
