Overview
Vehicle Integration Engineer — 7 months Contract (until end of March) Gaydon
IR35 Rate - up to £33.88 Umbrella; PAYE applicants welcome. Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK and travel within the EU.
Responsibilities
* Support the Efficiency Product Owner in the delivery of data-driven, intelligent, optimised energy nodes (sources of energy conversion) to pursue Vehicle Efficiency attributes (e.g., real-world and homologated driving range and energy consumption) befitting a modern luxury vehicle.
* Collaborate with a wide range of business stakeholders and engineers to deliver vehicle programmes against the team’s Quality Operating Schedule (QOS), the client’s framework for attribute delivery.
* Identify risks and opportunities in a robust data-driven manner to inform and influence business decisions and engineering direction related to vehicle energy nodes.
* Report to the Vehicle Architecture’s Efficiency Product Owner and operate within the client’s Agile framework; assist squads to plan and share work through focused scrum events, conduct daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
* Identify and facilitate the removal of impediments and risks; facilitate stakeholder collaboration wherever required.
* Coordinate and contribute towards Vehicle Efficiency attribute verifications and data analysis; support governance across vehicle programmes, identifying and making recommendations for handling risks and opportunities as they arise.
* Collaborate with tools and methods teams to support the development of Vehicle Efficiency attributes.
* Where programme delivery imperatives allow, contribute to continuous improvement project work.
* Undertake any other work as directed by line management in connection with the job as may be requested.
Qualifications / Experience
* Knowledge and/or experience of working with Agile operating principles.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Evidence of a methodical, structured approach to problem solving.
* Strong presentation skills with the ability to use data and visualisations to articulate complex risks, opportunities and recommendations in an easily digestible way.
* Educated to Degree level (ideally Mechanical or System Engineering).
* Experience: Technical engineering background; experience of Vehicle attribute and/or vehicle system delivery.
