Role responsibilities
The Assistant Commercial Manager will work within the Transport for Wales (TfW) Commercial Directorate and have a key role in supporting the successful management of various commercial projects.
1. Assist the Commercial Manager in monitoring breaches of governance by adhering to the TfW procurement and internal change control procedures, in conjunction with the Programme and Project teams to ensure TfW are operating in compliance with regulations.
2. Monitor commercial aspects of allocated projects by collating and providing evidence relating to issues and risks, at the earliest opportunity to enable the Commercial Manager to propose mitigation actions.
3. Reviewing contractor applications and processing payment certifications by following TfW processes to ensure commercial activities are in compliance with regulations.
4. Support the Commercial Manager in providing guidance to Project Managers by becoming knowledgeable of the contractual agreements to enable informed decisions to be made in the delivery of projects to time, cost and quality.
Who we’re looking for
5. Basic knowledge of construction forms of contract
6. Experience of writing reports, papers, and formal letters and of numerical data manipulation.
7. Demonstrable experience of engaging with and developing effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
8. Demonstrable experience of planning, prioritising, and delivering work to a high standard and by the required deadline.
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
