IT Infrastructure Engineer – On-Premises Focus
📍Location: Flexible within the UK (commutable to London/Billericay preferred)
⏳Hours: Monday - Friday (with out-of-hours support on a rota)

About the Role:
We are seeking an On-Premises IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our busy, hands-on IT team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining, designing, and enhancing our on‑premises infrastructure, including Windows servers, virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V), and storage solutions. You will also support hybrid and cloud systems when required.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure, and is comfortable working on both technical projects and day‑to‑day operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities🔑🖥️
* Design, deploy, and maintain on‑premises infrastructure (Windows servers, storage, virtualization).
* Monitor and ensure performance, availability, and security of all on‑prem systems.
* Implement security measures and maintain compliance with industry standards.
* Lead infrastructure projects and upgrades, including server builds and disaster recovery initiatives.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure and processes.
* Troubleshoot network and system issues, working with external partners when required.
* Support cloud and hybrid environments when required.
What we’re looking for💡
* 5+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure engineering, ideally within an MSP environment.
* Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server (2012–2022), Active Directory, DNS, Failover Clustering.
* Experience with virtualization (Hyper‑V) and storage management.
* Familiarity with networking principles and troubleshooting (VPNs, firewalls).
* Experience with patching, firmware upgrades, and technical documentation.
* Adaptable, hands‑on, and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
