CR8: Lead Technician Location: Slough Salary: £47,000 per annum Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Lead Technician on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities: To lead the mechanical engineering operation. Dealing with bus servicing, breakdowns, inspections and diagnosing faults, specifying the correct method and length of time it may take to repair. To be flexible in respect of working hours to ensure commitments to operational requirements are fulfilled. Remain up to date with any new engineering or health and safety legislation. To be fully up to date with individual bus history paying particular attention to reoccurring defects prior to carrying out the bus inspection. To be familiar with modern repair techniques and the use of electronic and mechanical diagnostic equipment (i.e. brake rolling road tester, smoke meter, headlight alignment tester, engine oil sampling and diagnostic laptop equipment). To be familiar with computerised engineering systems and the input and extraction of relevant data. 40 hours per week, shifts to be discussed at interview. Skills and Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent (i.e. City & Guilds Level 1&2) in an engineering field. Capability to multi-skill within an engineering environment. Flexible approach to working hours. A PCV licence is desirable, ability to obtain a PCV licence is essential, our client will help you gain this qualification.
